Kent
I have 2 nbew Finishers at home, and have hunted out of the Avery model this past weekend. I also hunted out of the Final Approach models as well in corn fields for snow geese and Canada's. I'm 6 foot 1, 210 pounds, not exactly your lineman size. I found the Avery models to be a bit small. One guy we hunted with was 6 ft 3 and everytime he laughed, the ''lid'' would move up and down..I also found it a bit tough to get your elbows in, but they're super light and easy to bring in the field. The Final Approach ones have a metal frame close to your feet and permit you to rest your gun barrel on it and I find they're a bit wider, the downside is that I dont like the way the flaps fold over your face..they hug your face and any movement of your head inside to follow the birds moves the flaps and they're heavier to lug around. Your football guys may find that they are a bit tight even in both models...but squeeze them in, layout blinds are a great way to hunt. If they've never hunted out of them, make them practice a bit before..remember, safety is key, tell them to keep their safety's on until the last minute..were starting to see accidents uphere of guys blowing their toes off becauce their safety's are off and they pull the trigger as they rise up from the leanign position. good luck. Just noticed I goofed, the layouts I have are Power Hunters and not Finishers. Your guys should be more comfortable in Finishers than Power hunters. sorry for the mistake. |

Hey Kent......those big boys should be fine in the finsihers. They are quite wide across the shoulders.
Also Avery has the new version of the Migrator M2 out which is the rommiest low profile blind on the market today. Good luck. Paul MacKinnon Atlantic Flyway Gundogs Avery/GHG Pro-Staff Zink Calls Pro Staff |
