We had a awesome morning today. 14 geese entered shooting range and only 1 got out alive. The first bird was a single 1 shot and he was dead. The next was a group of 4. All 4 birds were killed on 5 shots. Then a group of 3 all 3 killed on 4 shots. A pair came over us high I didnt even think were in shooting range or reach for my gun. A father and son I was with jumped up and both shot at the same time and dropped both of them. It was quite a site. You could tell these two have been hunting geese for a very long time and knew the limits of thier gun. The last 3 were all singles and killed with 1 or 2 shots. The one that got away came in from behind us and was a tough shot for the shootter he got 2 shots off but missed.

Thor did make some awesome retieves today. Every bird that was killed Thor marked even the quad. But there was someone hunting another pit 125 yards from us. They shot a goose and it went down outside the decoys. The guy I was with said send Thor on that goose. Thor had a good mark on the bird so I sent him. When Thor picked up the bird another guy with us said can you tell him to take that bird back to them. I said Ok. I gave Thor a whistle sit and a right angle back right to thier pit. When he got to thier pit I blew my whistle to sit him and yelled at him to drop and leave it. He dropped the bird right at thier pit and then I whislted him to come back our and he ran right into his blind. The people I was with were shitting themselves after seeing that.

Guns everyone was shoting Beneli Super Black Eagles.

Decoy spread about 200 good years and fire stones tires with some silo's and shells mixed in. The decoys stay out all year and are never moved. Once the farmer cuts the crops the decoys are put right out and left until after the end of the season.

Chokes Pattern masters to modified.

Shells all 3 1/2 Black Clouds and Hevi shot to Steel T shot.

That decoy spread behind me in the picture is who shot the goose that Thor brought it back to.

Yes geese were breasted out and I was even home early enough to cook some up for lunch. We quit at 9 a.m.

Rudd Thor got me this invite I was hunting with the guy who owns the pit a couple weeks ago and he has never seen a retriever like him. He invited me down to hunt today with him and his famly to show them what a trained retriever could do. Needless to say they were very impressed.

Where we hunted today was a premier spot on the shore. It was right across from where George Buch and Dick Cheney hunted when they visited the shore and other dignataries hunt in the area. Chef Boy R D lives right up the street.

Slick dog trick. The coyote would think I'd lost my mind - and probably flip me off.

GOT TO LOVE AND RESPECT THAT THOR!!!!

Nick, I guess by now you are never surprised or amazed at what Thor can or will do.
You have to start taking video of your hunts & Thor working.
Besides the great enjoyment value of seeing Thor work, The video can also promote the use of a cbr for hunting and how a well-trained chessie can enhance a hunt. Videos of Thor working can be educational to other hunters as well as to promote the use and value of a great field dog.

Best Regards, Charlie
