Well, not hunting but close enough....wow! what a great weekend. Pinks and in thick and Silvers came in strong last night. My buddy and I both hooked two 35+lb Kings on the Puyallup River last night. He got his landed after about 10 minutes. I chased mine down river about 1/4 of a mile before he took off to the wrong side of a log jam. I leaned back on him as hard as I could with the 10lb line and it straightened out the hook....poof! Still had a great time and now I have three days worth of brine and smoking to do....
   Sunday we really cleaned up on the Silvers. Cooked some steaks and a fresh one on the river. It is the life! Days like this one! Perfect! And, the dogs smell really, really, really bad! There will be fresh smoked salmon in elk camp this weekend....
 Two weeks of Elk Chasing and then back to dog training....then back to duck hunting, then to late season white-tail, back to dog training....steelheading....back to dog training....way too many hobbies.... People wonder why I'm not married.... Nice mess of salmon... And the rod cam is pretty cool too.
My wife just made a comment last night about salmon that a group was eating on the TV show the Alaskan Experiment. She would kick me out of the house if I wanted to keep your mess of salmon. I'm glad I have a nice dog kennel building. Kevin Shaffer |
