We own a 10 month old bitch out of Canvas X Rags and live in California . I would like to get her on a truck and have her FF, collar conditioned and started with some serious basics. She has had some training done by me however not nearly as far along as we should be. She is a good dog and we would seriously be interested in any trainers who know this breed to come forward so we can talk about training options.

Please help us with this great girl as it hurts me to see her being held back because of me and my schedule. $ is no object with the right handler.

Ricky Milheim did the "break-out work on Decks, Tiger and Hummer. I think Hummer needs 1.5 open points to be a FC/AFC. Also Canvass spent a winter with Ricky. I think but not sure Bach Doar helped with Blaze. I know Linda Harger also helped with Blaze.

Kent,

Check with Keith Carlson and ask him about Jerry Patopea in Oregon. He has worked with alot of Peakes and has a real nice one right now..... posted by KC on 11/8:

Crackshot Ben There Done That (Benny) JAMed the 73 dog Open at Southern Arizona Retriever Club this past weekend. At just past this third birthday, it was only his second attempt at running an Open. Owners are Jon & Carol Knapp. Benny is trained & was run by Jerry Patopea.

Hey Kent,

I am not the best source for getting "up to date" information on a professional trainer in your neck of the woods. However, you are lucky because you have people close by in Calif. that can help that have personal experience to share. Such as, Jon & Carol Knapp, Julie Cole, Dale Langhorne, Mary Ellen Mazzola and others. In Idaho you have Linda Harger, Diane Mazy, Tom Cox and of course Steve Parker who probably knows everybody. Write or call and I am sure they can lead you in the right direction.

Also, a lot of the trainers run the winter circuit in Calif. as you probably know. Head to a field trial, sit around, drink a beer or two and enjoy some some nice dogs and healthy conversation.

Good luck!

Keith

Keith,

After a year of searching I found a great person to school my bitch Rita. She has over thirty years of experience and is close to my house. Time will tell the story here. This will let me start some advanced work with Cane. I like spring training and just spent a ton of money on some new equipment. Thanks always for your support.

Kent
