Kallie, 11 weeks, made her first water retieve yesterday. I had all the dogs out getting some exercise and we went to a pond near the house. She's been in there before but no retrieves and her swimming was what you expect for a pup. We walked upand the older two dogs barrelled in the water, so Kallie figured she'd jump in too. She's alot more coordinated compared to the first few times and she was biting at the water while she swam around. She got in and out a few times while Ithrew bumpers for the older dogs. I had a Dokken teal for her so I tossed it in thewater about 15ft out and she jumped right aand even held it by the body and brought it back to me.... Of course old Dad here was whooping and hollering telling her whatg a good girl she was. In typical CBR fashion she walked off, whizzed and chased a leaf that was blowing by.

Jim, is your pup out of Rake and Jazz? If so, so is my boy Chance, who just made his first water retrieves recently also!

Brad, yes she is out of Rake and Jazz. Saturday I went out with a local trainer I'm thinking of sending her too and she retrieved her first duck, GWT, and did really well. Yesterday we went to another pond and she made some good retrieves. This morning my wife called and said she can't keep her out of the water. She goes in after the big dogs bumpers, she has really taken to the water which is good. Roger, Jazz's owner, told me that Jazz loves to swim. I'm really happy with Kallie and look forward to her losing her puppy teeth.
