She never used to do this. The pro that had her said she had a barking problem on the water but he had worked har at correcting that ( it's back again!. When I send her on a back cast or an angle back, she ''yips'' as she's turning to go. ( front sit postion) When she's besides me, she'll sometimes yip as she's as I send her but not always. I've been correcting her by doing the whistle-sit-nick-quiet thing but have not had great succes.
On the water she'll whine like a sob on the line when the ducks are thrown for marks and then either she'll start whining louder as she's swimming, or..when she spots the bird in the water will start barking. Again, whistle-sit-nick-quiet- HERE ..do that 3 times and she'll quiet down. Last night I was working on pattern drills, nothing hard, she's done a lot harder things with the pro..again that freekin' yipping as she turns to leave. Finally I thought that maybee she was jsut too excited and with the reduced amount of training she's had since coming back home was just too cranked up ready to so..so I put 4 dummies about 50 yds down a straight line, had her do some force to pile stuff 4 times..and THEN, re did the pattern blinds..funny thing..she was awfull quiet. Is this just a case of too much pent up energy? Any ideas of what I should do. The last thing I need is a yipper at a Hunt test or Field Trial.

any advice is appreciated.

Thanks Lisa..I didnt know you were from New York..it's when you wrote ''noice'' that I figured it out Smile !!
All kidding asides, I think your right..and as far as the happy bumpers..only after training do I throw anyting to her..she sometimes finishes training with her ears down and tail low especially when she knows that she screwed up on something simple that she shouldnt ( and got corrected) so I'll finish with some easy stuff that I know she can do with her paws tied together and then throw a mark for her to retrieve..apart from that I can NEVER throw a happy bumper during training, she'll never come back down
