Hi, all,

The annual C-Day at the Starr Ranch, in Fremont, CA is this coming Saturday, April 12th, and is open to anyone who owns a Chesapeake, i.e. you do NOT have to be a member to attend, so the more the merrier! Other breeds are also welcome, but as guests of a Chesapeake.

There will be a Puppy/Beginner stake for the babies or anyone who has a chessie that's never done field work before. An Intermediate stake equivalent to WD work. A derby Stake equivalent to WDX, and an Advanced stake equivalent to WDQ held. Missy Bell, who used to have chessies and has now gone over to the other side of the black dogs, is going to judge one of our stakes. I don't remember the cost of the entry fee but it's not a lot per dog (I can't open the flier here at work, so didn't attach it) I believe sign-ins start at 8 a.m. There will be dead birds......and anyone who wants to bring live birds are welcome to.

David Lipton, DVM, DACVO, will be holding an eye clinic. The cost will be $30/per dog. Any breed can participate. Please let Alex know if you will be bringing your dog for the eye clinic.

As always, the day will end with a terrific barbecue of steak and/or chicken. There will be a nominal charge for the meat, and we ask that anyone who is coming also bring a pot luck dish to contribute to the balance of the dinner.

Please feel free to forward this message to anyone you would like to invite. Please E-mail Alex Starr to let her know if you will be attending, and how many of you will be there, plus dogs for the eye clinic. If you have any questions, you can e-mail Alex at: apstarr@ix.netcom.com, or me at: sndyoak@aol.com. I have the flier for it at home, so if anyone wants the flier, e-mail me & I'm happy to e-mail it to you. The filer also has times, fees, and directions.

The weather looks like it will be terrific, and this has always been a fun-filled event for the Northern California region at the Starr's beautiful ranch atop Mission Peak. We hope it will be a success again this year, and look forward to seeing many familiar faces.
