Ever since my Chessie was a pup her tail has curled up in a circle. What's the deal, is this common. And About 3 months ago, the same dog lost one of her top front teeth, it rotted and fell out. Is this common too?

My dog has what my buddies call a "monkey tail". I have seen a number of Chessies with various degrees of curl. Other people on the board can give you more accurate genetic info, but I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone. (I posted a question about the tail somewhere too.)

My chessie has a curled tail. But I was told it was a gay tail. I see an advantage to a gay tail. When my chessie is in high brush I can always see that flag(tail). Never really lose him.

The other big advantage is that they just don't clear off a coffee table like a straight tail does...
