I was wondering if I could post my dogs pedigree if anybody knew the bloodline and anything about the dogs in it. I see the sire's ped has some titles in it. But the bitches ped looks like its just a back yard breeder. I really didn't buy my dog to breed.I just knew the breeder had one other liter about two years prior and had some good hunters come out of it.I've been working real hard with my pup.We have acouple started passes in are first two tries. We are going after two more this month. Then on to season.Im just trying to put some stength back into his ped.

what are your dog's sire and dam's registered names?

Check and see if your dog's ancestors are on this site: www.chessieDB.org and you can also enter your dog in the database with a photo. If your dog's ancestors are already in the database it will automatically link them up. Just be careful you spell everything EXACTLY as it appears on the AKC pedigree. Example Coot's Gypsy Clipper if spelled Coots Gypsy Clipper will not recognize that as the same dog.
If you don't have anything but the names of the sire and dam, you can order a 5-generation research pedigree from the store at www.AKC.org. It's about $8 I think. Just because the ancestors don't have titles, in this breed there's a good chance there were some good ole hunting dogs in there. It's always nice to see 'fresh new blood' so don't let a piece of paper determine how well your dog does. Let his talent determine that! |
