Hi,
Now that I have some of your attention. I will play nice peace.
Here go's, There are show lines and field/hunt lines of CBRS , Right?. I would like to know if the Bliss line and the Carroll Island are the same lines? I know that the Carroll Island lines are hunting lines. Is the Bliss line a show or Field line?
I live in Lutherville,MD and I fish off of Carroll Island and hunt in the Gunpowder River. That is why I ask.
BTW, Do any of you guys/gals have the Address of Anthony Bliss. I would like to take a picture of the house as it is today (with the owners permission) and post it for all to see.

John,

Tony Bliss died several years ago. He never lived in MD but on Long Island NY. He purchased the Chesacroft Kennel name from William & John Hurst who did live in Lutherville. The Hurst dogs traced back to the Carroll Island dogs. However, the place where their kennel was located is now the Aberdeen Proving Grounds so I am not sure what house you are seeking permission to photograph.

Tony Bliss was INSTRUMENTAL in the development of the retriever field trials. His dogs were shown and trialed- the first Dual Ch of any breed was his- Dual Ch Sodak's Gypsy Prince. Mr Bliss was a wealthy man who employed the top trainers of the 30's & 40's for his dogs-Chalres Morgan, Lionel Bond to name a few.

John,

I hunt APG/Carroll Island. With the history of the breed being linked to the Carroll Island gun clubs I figured I had no choice but to get a Chessie when I got a dog! I have driven around the Island a fair amount and there are no houses remaining on the Island.
