Been breeding field trial pointers and setters for years.

I try and line breed as much as possible to concentrate successful blood lines and maximize positive genetic traits such as tail-set, biddability, bird-finding capability, etc.

In studying retriever pedigrees, I see very little line-breeding. Almost all are "out breedings".

Any particular reason for that?
