Another photo of "Tundra" in Maine who leaves with her "family" today for the Canadian Nat. Am. in Balmoral, Manitoba where Sally Ann will compete with two of her Labs "Yukon" and "Ice". Best wishes for Sally Ann, Hugh and their dogs. What a nice way to spend a summer vacation!

Thanks Keith for posting my pic...didn't want anyone to think we had a slouch here in NJ!!!
Had a very hard time getting him out of the water! He loved it and was retrieving one after the other!!! PS If anyone is interested, we were at Spruce Run Reservoir, Hunterdon County, NJ

One more of "Tundra" and "Yukon" is still playing in the 9th series of the Can. Nat. Am.

Good luck Sally Ann!

I just read on Working Ret. Central that Sally Ann was again a finalist with her Labrador male "Yukon" at the Can. Nat. Am. I think irregardless of which retriever breed you love, when they reach this level of accomplishment, it is truly special.

I reaize the primary focus of this board and forum is on the Chesapeake breed but I am very thankful when people like Sally Ann are willing to take a chance on a Peake puppy. She has been involved with this breeding from the beginning and I am grateful for her support and advice. And a big thanks is due Wendy for the introduction.

Someday, I sure hope to get to Maine to train, run a few trials and indulge in some great seafood.

Teaching "Mickey" to count to 3 (gun stations) at 3 months and 3 weeks. He does just fine, straight out and straight back.

Hi Scott,

Hope all is well with your family and "Mary" too.

"Mickey" is very much like his older, half-brother "Rusty" in that they both are very easy to train, intelligent and have a lot of retrieving desire with some nice marking ability. However, "Mickey" (51 lbs) has matured at a faster physical rate and has almost all of his permanent teeth and is still a week shy of 5 months. The photo posted was taken almost a month ago. He does a lot of things easily and naturally. I just show him and he just does it with no big deal or fuss. A fun dog to train with a real nice temperment and attitude.

There are some nice pups from this litter and it would be a safe bet that you would like them! I am very glad this breeding took place.

Take care,

Keith
