Hello everyone. I live in WI and I am looking to get a top of the line Chesapeake show dog. I am looking for suggestions of breeders. Either the breeder will be willing to ship or I can pick up? Any thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Wendy

Wendy,
Hi from WI, you could check out www.bluemoonchesapeakes.com
Chris Rosenberg has nice show dogs as well as she runs them in hunt test.

another one to try is:
http://www.cursan.com/index.html
Sandy Dollar has nice lines and she shows her dogs as well as runs hunt tests also.

I'm not to familar with just show dogs since I am into the hunt test game and am more familular with those lines.

Good luck, e-mail me if you have anymore questions.

Welcome to the board

Don't let the knuckle draggers scare you off, Mostly all bark..no bite.. there are well rounded breeders and owners on this forum.

Have you ever owned a chessie before?

Look around and have patience there are some excellent breeders here and out there that will have well rounded dogs.

You are correct, not only do we believe they can do both, we know they can...and I think they all oughta before being bred. But that is another thread entirely....

I fully believe they can do both and I hope they continue to do both and you have done a great job in the ring and field with your chessies.

I was just asking if he wanted a dog that will do both or just show.

If he wants a dog to show and retrieve there are some kennels that he should steer clear of. If he doesnt care if the dog then that might open up some more options.

Thank you for everyone's relies. I have owned two chessies. My current male was to be for show, but his second testicle never dropped, he is a wonderful dog with a great personality. I would never own any other kind of breed. I do have a strong interest in confirmation but would like to try field but have no experience in this area. If anyone is near my area or knows of anyone out there, I would love a mentor field trainer for me to follow around and learn from. I am in St. Croix Falls, WI area. Thank everyone.. Wendy
