Appalachian Chesapeake’s is proud to announce another outstanding litter of fine line-bred Hunting, trialing, Hunt test and family Chesapeake potentials. This litter was produced By “Appalachian Mountain Laurel” (Northern Flights Appalachian Moonshine x Chico’s Delta Dash-o-matic) X “Fireweed's It's Only Money QAA "Cash" (DC AFC Sunday's Rufwater Canvasback, MH x Dual CH AFC CH Genny's Yakity Yak Don't Talk Back). The pups were born 18-Sept-08 with a total of 10 boys. To date, they have had their dew claws removed, wormed twice, are feeding well on Iams puppy food intergraded with noise and playing with various game feathers and quail.

At this time "Cash" is the only known Chesapeake born to, two Dual Champion parents in any retriever breed, while his mother is the only living Dual CH, AFC retriever in any breed. During her (Yakity) grandchildren’s birthing, she was winning a Field Trial Specialty out West. With 10 males, this will be a powerful breeding to consider for your serious Chesapeake needs. Take a look at their full pedigree at www.appchessie.com. For any additional info, please feel free to call. (717)453-1101

Juli,
This is a funny topic for me because our Spring litter consisted of all females, five of them to be exact. I do have a question and maybe you can answer or one of the other members. Is there any kind of record for a same sex litter? Our vet suggested we look because, neither she nor any of the other vets have ever seen a one sided litter such as these little guys. Thanks and Take care, Steve

Martin Pinders' recent litter may be high on the list "Announcing the arrival of 7 male pups to Chuck & Sassie on Wed.24th at 12:05 to 7:45 am". Also Julie recent grand-puffies: 8 & 2 (1 male at the bridge of the 11).
Maybe Lisa can shed light on this since she has every record imaginable. Currious if a "one-sided' litter is a new or recently new phenomenon? Her genetic insight is invaluable here - obviously a 50/50 % odds is not occuring.
Maybe our drinking water is contaminated? Other environmental factors? This is interesting. Charlie
