This litter was whelped the 21st, and one male and one female remained unreserved at last word. (Perhaps Brian or Kerri will post their basket of pups pic.)

Pups will be ready to go on March 11. We still have one female available. Feel free to inquire in the case anyone who has put a deposit in is unable to follow through.

Finally got to meet this gang yesterday, and I found the whole litter healthy and well socialized. (Pups' parents were on site, and both were actually even nicer than expected.) Little guy on the right chose me, but I believe there's still an unspoken for female. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ If you think I'm wrong, you might be right. What a beautiful litter of puppies! I've always liked Cage's looks from his pictures. All these nice litters....makes me want a puppy. Good luck with them.

Julie-
Thank you. I am using some of your puppy ideas. I am using a whistle when I call them. And I am hoping to pick up collars and put tabs on them today. Did you leave the collars on all the time? Kerri |

Kerri,
I put them on mine at about 4 weeks, too. When they were in their box which had smooth sides and nothing for them to catch on, I would leave them on most of the time (removing at night), but when I had to move them to an x pen I took them off because I was worried they'd catch on the metal. So it depends on where you are keeping them; if there's something they could possibly catch on just remove them when you aren't there to supervise. At about 5 weeks is when the fun begins. They'll start chewing on them as soon as you put them on but don't really start dragging each other around til about 5 weeks when they have more teeth and can get a firmer grip. You have to watch the mom, too, Puffin thought it was entertaining to drag them around so I had to watch her more than the pups. And voila when they are 7 weeks and you or the new owner puts a leash on they have learned to give to neck pressure and trot along beside you like little champs! Have fun...I'm jealous. |
