I called and talked with the guy who has the pups , he was a little rude . He tooted his own horn a little much for my taste , not to mention talked to me like i was a green kid looking for my first dog . The funny thing is i owned a chessie before he was born . Im sure they are nice pups BUT i dont want to deal with someone who thinks he wrote the book on what a good chessie is and as he says if it did NOT come from off the chesapeake bay then it was just a dog .

Allen"AKA COPIAH CREEK". You call me with no intentions on the posted pups, turn my words, then start problems. THEN call me back up and ask if I would accept a deposit from you now on any bitch I could find to breed My "Sandman" to. Said you don't care about the bitch as long it was from my stud. Then you jump on here on someone elses behalf and try to slander me?? As for having a Chesapeake before I did big deal. your old enough to be my grandfather. As for the "book" you say i wrote, sorry I beat you to it. Like it or not what I say is the truth and I don't care who it offends. Chesapeakes should be bred to be Chesapeakes bottom line and if the dog is proven himself to me in the real world, then It doesn't matter what he has accomplished outside of it. Extras are fantastic but never take the place of what shaped this working breed in the first place. Next time if you don't like what I have to say man up and tell me(instead of trying to send a deposit), don't act like a lil' school girl. I have run into more problems from older people in this game. Everyone wants to take credit for the breed. "I was here first" , "I've been training longer", bottom line Allen, Proof is in the pudding, you've been doing this before I was born??? You know so much?? Why the heck you want a dog from some kid you don't like?? Enough with the hating, get over it. By the way, I had you pegged with in the first minute we originally talked. Sorry I didn't tell you how great you and your dogs are, I know your type needs that. But what really gets me is after you running your mouth to "you know who".
You still call later and beg to get on the list for a "Sandman" pup. Then because you don't think I visit this board and you try this CRAP!! What nice tactics?!? And this kind of actions are what us newbies are suppose to look up to?!?! I have people from this board come up and talk nice to my face than run their mouths behind my back. others on this board being nice in person, then telling others I don't deserve my success because I haven't put my time in. Close to $10,000 in unpaid training bills from members of this board and a bunch of great e-mails and stories. Just don't see the benefit of this close nit community. Every time someone speaks to me all they do is run their mouths about others and their dogs. Its BS!! Welcome aboard, now excuse me why this knife goes in your back.

Gotta agree with Nomad on the previous post, what was the point of posting that opinion if you didn't want to start something.

Those are tough hunting conditions on the bay and if they weren't we wouldn't have any Peakes...working dogs are tough to beat in the real world...don't care what your game is, using them for what they were bred for is the right thing to do.

Everyone is searching for a yard stick to measure the quality of the breed. Working dogs in the conditions and area where they were developed is certainly a good measuring tool.

Nomad...you had to defend yourself..

Cool photos on your website. I go the bay every year, but I have never taken the time to hunt while I was there.

Keep up the good work, It looks like a good life.

Jeff

This is why I have dogs. When dogs don't agree they handle it amongst themselves. While I do agree Chessies are special because of thier heritage and breeding ground they originated frome which is Baltimore BTW. Is it really our position to defend thier integrity. I think the breed speaks for itself and does it quite well. Whether Nomad was rude or you were an A-hole; Chessies are still Chessies no matter who thinks what!

A good Chessie is a good chessie , no matter where they are raised . I have hunted them all over the country and there can be some tough hunting conditions no matter what part of the country your in . We just need to keep breeding GOOD dogs so everyone can see how great these dogs are .

I am going to chime in! The pup in the picture is my first chessie. I have hunted over GSP's, Labs, and Water Spaniels. Nothing I have trained has ever been this intelligent! The only way to keep this instict is to continue breeding the way it has always been done!

Slandering a breeder based upon his "attitude" on the phone is sort of silly! Come on, we are here to learn from each other and further the breed!

If your just here to trash other people, then why waste your breath energy posting?

But I would also like to point out that Lake Michigan is also a pretty rough environment also. So don't go trashing other areas of the country! lol, I have hunted the Chesapeake Bay with a Black lab and he worked out ok! And he was raised in NW Indiana!

Hey, it would be great if you fixed the picture in your avatar so we could see your dog instead of your legs and nother more Roll Eyes!

It's still coming up here with only a pair of someone's legs and the bottom half of the avatar is a gray block!
