I would love to find a male puppy for sale. I live in the panhandle of Florida but I will drive to get one. I only ask that the parents be healthy. Our last chessie died at only the age of seven. He was not a very healthy dog and had hip surgery when he was only 1, so I really do not want to have to go through that again. My husband and I love the breed. If anyone knows if there is a pup available please leave me a post. Thank You Yvette

Since this is your first post, and not sure about your awareness of breeders & organizations pertaining to chessies, I thought I'd give some info. Check out ACC, CBRS4ME, & CBRR&R sites for additinal info that may be helpful to find a dog or puppy. If you are 'leary' of repeating problems you had, have you considered a rescue/adoption?? The CBRR&R (Chesapeake Bay
Retriever Relief & Rescue) has a webpage dedicated for dogs (and sometimes puppies) in need of a permanent home. I noticed
there are usually quite a few near or within short driving distance to you. Advantages of a rescue or adoption are you will
generally have a better underanding of what the dogs' health is, personality, and behavior issues, if any. With a pup, it is relatively unknown. Just an idea. Also these sites are useful to gain breeder info if you still want to get a puppy.

I know that CoolWater near Orlando (I think) is planning a litter. They were talking about using a sire that I am familiar with, Bear is a great chessie. I've seen some of his puppies from other bitches, very nice too.
