This is a question for those with experience with hypothyroid dogs.

After my dog was diagnosed as hypothyroid, he was put on Thyro-tab by Vetamix - a .8 pill twice a day. His thyroid levels were a little high after the first retest a couple weeks ago, and the vet said to give him one .8 pill in the morning and a half .8 (so .4) pill at night.

But shouldn't he get the same amount morning and night instead (switch to a .6 pill), to keep things even, for lack of a better term?
