Three days into a good starting duck season and Gunners tail goes limp.Thats just one issue the other that came with this limp tail is his personality. One minute mr nice guy the other minute he's growling at you under his breath. Not once even in FF did ever growl or get offensive. He also the past three days when in the house lays under the kitchen table. He is 17 months old and has never done that.He goes where I go.When he's in the house he spends 99% of the time laying in front of glass door looking outside the other 1% eating.I have a vet app. made for tommorrow. I have no idea whats up,but it really is bothering me.

If his tail is really hurting him, that could make him pretty darn grouchy! I had a Golden years ago that got growly/grumbly every time he got limp tail. I can understand it, when I put my back out my hubby told me to stop growling lol

Now if he continues growling once his tail is all better, then thats something else...but for now I wouldn't panic. Is he on any painkillers for the limp tail?

Limp tail hurts like hell and your FF. Give the dog a break. It's like having severe shine splints and you have to run track.

I should add, a lot of vets have never even heard of limp tail (by any of the names it goes by - cold tail, limber tail etc)

My mom took Montana (her golden) in to the vets once after he came down with it, he was really hurting and she wanted some meds for it. That vet insisted there was no condition by that name, and pronounced Montana's pain to be caused by full anal glands, before even touching the dog. He charged her $45 to express the glands, plus the $35 office call, and sent the dog home in as much pain as he arrived in Frown

This stupid vet SHOULD have known better, he owned Goldens for god sakes! On the other hand I don't think his overly fluffy show goldens had ever seen water Wink And this same vet bred his bitch that had seizures...real smart guy!
