Hi
I have a 10 month old Chesapeake bitch, she hasn't had her 1st season yet, I noticed today, she was going for a pee quite alot, she seems fine in herself, was just wondering if she could be coming in season, there is no swelling though, any advice greatly received thanks |

Hard to say without being there. It could be a urinary tract infection or it might be one of (as I call them) the early warning signs of her heat cycle. My girls started marking more several weeks before a heat cycle. Going 10 to 12 months before a first cycle isn't unusual. I have one that had one drop of blood at about 10 months of age but didn't have a full cycle until she was almost 1 1/2 years old!

Jess,
What exactly is "pee quite alot" is she asking to go outside and urinating normally? or is she going out and squatting small amounts in multiple spots? If she is squatting and urinating small amounts it could be a UTI. Is she having accidents in the house, drinking more water?
