Hi everyone,
New to site hope someone can help. Just picked up my 18 month old chessie bear from Ponderosa Kennels (Pat Nolan) after 5 months of training. Very surprised by his overall appearance and condition considering they came highly recomended. My dog came back extremely thin and his once beatiful thick full coat is now thin, dry and brittle with a small bald spot between his shoulder blades where it is most brittle. The dog came home with the runs and vomitting and his bark sounds hoarse. Not sure if this is a result of stress from the e-collar training or something that should be checked by a vet. Any feedback would be appreciated. |

those symptoms were similar to my Ginger's thyroid problems when she was younger. I would ask your vet to do a full thyroid panel
Ginger will be 13 in 2 months; medication will keep you dog in good shape Ginger also smelt terrible, hair thinned sides belly and the back. where you could really see the brittleness was were the collar come in contact, seemed to just break it off.she has the best coat right now that she has ever had and no smell other than just being a chessie ron. it was a pain to find the right food (didn't know what the problem was) to solidify her stools as they were the soft side. it took until she was 7 till I eventually found out. I had to demand a full thyroid panel and then there was the answer |
