I put this page up, because it gets talked about quite a bit in my training group.

Did you hear about the pneumatic launcher that will launch up to 15 of anything, birds or bumpers?

There is always someone building a better mousetrap. Maybe we could pool our consumer resources and virtually try before we personally buy!

I heard about that launcher. They want a fortune for it! I'll have to save my pennies for it.

Actually, was looking into the (I think it's called) Max 500? That looks like a good one, too.

If I spent less $$ on training and entry fees, I could afford to buy more stuff!

I have heard that dogs not properly introduced to the special projectile employed by the MAX don't like them.

I think like my dogs do. If it can't give me birds, to hell with it!

Someone will make a lot of money when they figure out how to make a launcher that is extremely portable and shoots a real pretty flyer.

Just goes to show that you can't put a price on a good training group.

While people throwing and shooting birds is the best marking a dog can be presented, it is not always possible. The various remote launchers:
wingers, max 500, bumberboy or the latest one I've seen that looks like a catapult all have their pluses and minuses.
Personally I have 2 of the derby double units. They are light weight, easy carry in the car,and 2 units that can throw 4 in different directions cost less than a max that throws 5 to the same spot. Since I only train 1 dog I don't want the same mark 5 times.
My 2 units provide a mechanism for singles from different stations in the field. I do mostly singles during the week and multiples on weekends when I have real throwers.
I guess it depends on how many dogs you have and how you are able to train. Price wise the cheapest you ever buy in this game is the dog!

There is a lady in our training group that just bought a Max 5000 and had it out this thursday for the first time just to try it out. Looks pretty neat.

The favorite though seems to be the new mini Zinger Winger...they have one on order after having 2 of the full size ones for awhile...Really like them alot

Has anyone used it and how well does it work? I have 2 of the orginal size and really like them, but smaller could save space.

I have been using 2 Bumper Boy, 4 shooters for about two months now and really like them. They both have sound to get the attention of a young dog(presently have a 10 month old). They have been reliable and I have not had any problems.

If you are in the market for automatic throwers these are worth considering. If anyone needs more info, drop me an e-mail.

I own a Zinger winger full size version. It has yet to fail. This unit is so versatile and light weight. You can choose the launch angle, choose a high or low launch setting and it throws a live or dead duck great. The ability to launch a bird is great. The fact that the receiver mount is up high gives it line of sight that most can't offer at 300 yds. I have shot it at 300+ and no problem. By myself, I use it long and a sureflyte box launcher short with a scarecrow in a white tee shirts at each launcher. With one of my daughters throwing one too, I can get a triple with a retired bird completed for 2 dogs in less than 45 minutes. Can you tell I like this thing or what?
