Quick question...
For those of you who pull trailers or have toppers to carry your dogs, what size hole do your recommend for your chessies? My older male is 90-95 lbs., so I'm needing something big enough for him. Most manufacturers of these use different size boxes and some will custom build them to specified dimensions. Obviously needing something larger than what a pointer or small lab might fit into. Just curious what you would recommend. Thanks! Nate |

Nate,
The two hole dog box in my old Toyota pickup is 36"L x 24"H x 20"W Due to bed size on the smaller trucks. Both "Rusty" (90lbs) and "Mickey" (83 lbs) can turn around easily and lie down comfortably for extended periods of time. All of the other crates are 24"W with the same length and height that are used for the bigger dogs. However, since you drive a BIG truck, the extra width on the hole size sure helps in overall comfort for the larger Peakes. Good luck and keep training. Thanks Kent and Keith.
That's exactly what I was looking for. Thinking of getting a topper and just wanted to find out what would work best for the individual hole size. Keith, let me know when you get thawed out, so I can come down to throw birds for you and your brown dog posse. Nate |
