What's the best way to introduce the dog to calling? We have had some flocks of geese go over the house and my pup will run back and forth in the yard looking up at the geese barking. I thought this just meant he was birdy, and he'll chase birds around the yard. But I think this has led to our current problem. I started blowing on the duck and goose calls to get him used to the noise and he gets so excited I can't hold him down. He starts jumping and barking. I've tried to hold him by the collar and blow the calls but he just gets excited and starts squirming trying to get away so he can jump up and down. Its so bad that if we try to watch the Outdoor channel and there is a waterfowl show on, he sits up and runs to the door when they start calling or when the geese start coming in.
Does anyone have any suggestions to get him to stay calm when the calls start?

I think he's learning but slowly. Its not as bad when a bumper is introduced. He become's so focused on waiting for the bumper to fall so he can go get it, that he's not as crazy about the calls. So I think he's going to be alright. I need to introduce some blank fire and see if he stays focused.
