Rocky did her first “Bull Dog” yesterday and could not figure how to pick the duck up. She tried to go back to the point where she saw the bird shot which was the line she came back on with the middle bird. The wheels in her head were turning and with a little help on line she finely figured the correct line.

So good to hear Rocky is back in the field after her cataract surgery. Hope things continue to progress well.

First Bull Dog set-up I saw was the last series at a Nat Ama in New York several years ago. A local pro said she has seen them in hunt tests. While a dog is returning with a bird, another bird is thrown in view of the returning dog before the dog gets back to the line. Then the dog will at sometime have to retrieve the bird. Most of the time a well trained FT dog will not have a problem with this type of test.
