Any and all suggestions welcome. I train most of the time on my own. As of yet I have no throwers etc. Any suggestions about training triple on own. Such as walking triples etc.

Trying to do triples without throwers is very tough. If you are not a member of a local FT or HT club, look around and see if there is one in your area you can join. Also, you might go to a local FT/HT and see if there are any others running dogs in your area.

Otherwise, best bet is to buy a couple mechanical throwers with electronic releases. Set up at least two of these and then throw the short bird yourself. You can find these tripod wingers or a-frame wingers at many of the gun dog supply houses. I like the a-frame style best. These are the zingers www.zingerwinger.com, or Dobbs Pro Throw www.dobbsdogs.com

Have used both tritronics and dogtra releases and don't see much difference. A couple friends like the dogtra better as the transmitter is easier to fit in a shirt pocket. As I carry the transmitter in the back pocket of my levis it doesn't make much difference.

If you are running multiple dogs, you might look at a Maxx5000 www.etch-marc.com.
Sometimes you can get pretty good deals on used equiment using the classified ads on working-retriever www.working-retriever.com/ads.html

When starting triples remember to start with three very simple marks and work up from there. Do not just add a simple third mark to a tough double. If the dog has problems, run each mark as a single and then repeat as the triple, then a double and single and then the triple.

Thanks for getting back to me. At this time I'm a little disappointed in the nonsense that goes on in ht/ft clubs. My dog is a senior hunter now and what I do is put him at a sit walk out and throw silent bumpers at a distance. I then walk back and send him. The problem as you can see is if he runs into trouble no help etc.

Tom's advice is right on the money. I like to train by myself quite a bit (however I do train with some great lab guys and enjoy training with them) and have purchased the bumper boys. The one problem I have is not enough use of feathers. I do intend to purchase some zingers because the throw ducks.

But to get the real affect of a MH series you need helpers, popper guns (shot from the line as well as the field), short flyers, and a whole lot of chaos. Some MH are straight forwarded, but you'll find some judges like to set up real nasty tests with breaking birds, poison birds, and all kinds of nasty tricks to screw with a dogs mind.

I know, thats though nobody wants to play with you but thats ok, as long as your dog knows to sit and stay and not move until you get back to him, you can throw all 3 birds and he will mark them, then go back to him/her and release. Given the fact that it mark.
