Cuda recieved his Master Title last weekeend at Magnolia Retriever Club in Jackson Ms. He is Three years old this past April. We would have had his MH at two but ran out of trials in my area. He had passed three Master tests by 19 months of age. He cut his foot severly this past June and missed almost three months of training and our oportunity to go the Specialty.I am really proud of this dog and want to thank Dick Shultz of Stonefield Kennels for breeding him and selling him to me. Looking forward to the spring and running some Trials as well as the 2004 Master National. We will need two passes in the Spring to qualify.

Kent
I had forgotten even putting that post up on here, Cuda is 9 now and has been retired for a year or so. He injured his eye duck hunting in an oxbow off of the Mississippi chasing a crippled Mallard the winter he turned two.

He scratched his eye so severly they contimplated taking it out. I would not let them, he went around for about 2 weeks with a Eliz. Collar and an eyepatch with meds put in it every 4 hours for that time period. He still managed to pass just about every Master Test he ran that spring and passed I believe 14 or 15 HRC finished tests without a failure over the next couple of seasons.

The eye is clouded over fairly badly now, when he runs a water blind on his left side down a shoreline he tilts his head about every 3 ft. or so to make sure he is where he needs to be. His marking is still good, although low light conditions give him fits. He is till my guy during hunting season and Michael my son and he run a few marks occasionally.

Really miss being beside him at the line, I always knew he would do the job, mabye not a 10 but a consitant performer all the time. Lot to be said for consitancy at Hunt Tests and Trials.

Thanks for the bump.

Marty
