Team Poacher entered there first MH test on saturday. I know I seem like im rushing things. I entered to see what a MH test was like. I heard the stories and such but have to see for myself. It was my clubs test so money goes to club and thats cool with me. So anyway we failed out. We did make it through thr first round that was a triple mark with a forth bird diversion on return for the go birds pick up. I am still happy about that. The second was land water. Live flyer first on land a water mark in front of you and the last mark from behind crossing with a close poper gun. Ohh and a remote sit and release from behind the blind. The resltwas Poacher first break in a HT. I learned I need more work for sure to get MH done alot of little things need to get tightened up! Good learning experience though.

Sunday was a SH test witch was fair enough. The dogs and people were all nervous me included and it showed. Breaks, equiptment failures, and sloppy line manners werethe orderfor the first double land marks with an honor. The dogs calmed later. The double water marks went well. The last series was a live flyer land mark followed by a land and water blind retrieves. I made a couple rookie handles and can admit it. In the end though The leader of the team pulled us through and completed AKC SH title with 5 passes out of 6 tries. Big Grin So happy and proud its hard to describe. Wife and kids were there with there team shirts so the pressure was high on me! What fun what a relief! Have to thank alot of people for advice on this forum and that I have trained with. You know who you are. THANK YOU.

It was fun. Just a bigger step then I thought. After Poacher broke I stoped him within 5 yards and recalled. The judges informed me of ellimination so I asked if I could clean up the mess and they let me. Poacher did the marks well and may have made it to 3rd round if not for the break. Would any of you have cleaned up after a break? I caught hell for it from a couple people for rewarding his breaking. I was more interested in trying the marks. In hindsight I dont think I would do that again. Thank you for all the nice comments!

You know your dog better than anyone. You stopped him and recalled him that was the correction. Now my mistake was sending the dog to the wrong area for the blind. What does my dog do to me.
