Hey Billy,

That is great. How much more time left in the derby and what is Babe's breeding?

Billy,

what is in Babe that has some nice Peake owners running her pups? Has she been bred before and produced well? Don't give me a one word response!!

Yours truly,

Scott

Scott,

I believe "Babe' is Rock Rivers Misbehavin Babe (decks X jj's nala marie)......If this is true - she has a littermate up here that is a QAA MH that is a very nice dog with a lotof bottom and drive....

Consequently, a Hummer X Babe breeding would be a linebreeding back to Decks....

Now I could be totally wrong, and I am sure someone will kindly correct me, if this is not so.... Smile

Juli

Yup. Babe is a wonderful dog with a lot of prey drive. Out of Decks. It's all about prey drive and where you came [dog] from if you want to win in field trials. These 3 girls most likely will get their letters up front if they stay in an excellent program and stay healthy. This is the second time Babe was bred to Hummer and won't be done again. The puppy we kept from the first litter looked excellent but died in an accident.

It certainly sounds like Rick Milheim's apprenticeship with Danny Farmer has certainly benefited a number of well known Chesapeake field trial dogs.

But then again, folks in Colorado have known the competitiveness of Danny Farmer for 25 years. I think many breathed a sign of relief when he went to Minn. this past summer.

Danny's 300 plus Open wins and 17 or 18 straight at one time, is a testament to his training methods, skill and great dogs.

Danny and his mentor, Judy Aycock once put a wonderful collar seminar in Colorado in '86. The list of titled dogs trained by those two is just incredible.

Keith

PS. Justin Tackett of Waterdog recently did a real nice interview with Danny.

Congratulations to "Rachel", Billy, Linda and Mitch who I read someplace also won the Amateur at the same trial with "Desi" and the puppy stake with their yound Lab. What a great weekend they had!

And of course, a big congratulations to Bruce & Marlene with "Rags." I've always thought she was pretty cool from the first time I saw her in 2001 when we were picking up the puppies from the last "Boss" x "Sammie" litter. Hope she gets there!

Keith
