That's really neat...great pics... thanks for posting them....

Yakity may not be competing, but she is showcasing what our breed is capable of on a national scale....AWESOME...Plus, she gets to play through the whole Nat'l... that's gotta be an absolute blast for Linda and her!

That 5th series is impressive. Quad with 2 retired, long retired at 395 yards. Watching Kenny Trott's video of the long retired reaffirmed my position that these dogs are vey special.

I have spent the past week at the National Open Retriever Championships in Morgan Hill. I am sure that alot of you may know all about this, but for those that don't I thought I would share this noteable bit of information.
As many of you know, Linda Harger's Yakkity was asked to be one of two test dogs for this event. Linda said that she does not remember which other chesapeake female has been asked in the past (maybe someone else might know).

As test dog, Yakkity ran all ten tests before the participants did. Up until the last test she had only had one mark she had to be handled to. This was the case with over half of the twelve dogs that were in the final. Yakkity ran the tenth series without a handle, better than most of the dogs who ran this last test.

Linda and Yakkity have so much to be proud of. First being invited to participate and then to run with the energy and talent that she exhibited. up to the end, She had as much spunk as she did in the beginning of the event. Like Linda said, she did the breed proud! There were so many impressed observers, that is for sure!

WOOHOOO YAKITY AND LINDA!!!

Thanks Ray for relaying this info..I was wondering all week how Yaks was doing!

Juli
