Westwind Abernaki Chief (Abe), got a qualifying 2nd in a 49 dog Q at the Maine Retriever Club fall trial. He is now qualified all-age. His sister Katie also ran a good trial, but missed the short retired gun in the last series os the Q. She ran a good amateur as well, with an excellent double land blind with a poison bird. I lost her on the water blind, where she wanted to "swim out to sea".
Mike Coutu was having a very good weekend as well. Both LB and Loppy were back for the water marks in the OPen and Amateur when I left. Go Loppy, just one more point for her AFC!

Just got back online after our Rita lick, which one of the Abe x Minnie pups Gary mentioned weathered with us. Something in the mess got him on the muzzle, but Benedryl knocked the swelling back, and he's fine now. Couldn't be much happier with the near eight-month-old or more thankful to Gary, Wendy and all the other folks behind his breeding.
(Doesn't offend me one bit that in addition to the disposition and type of field work I'd hoped for, he's starting to look like his old man.)
