After watching Beamer run the last series in the PRTA Derby hosted by the Maine Retriever Trial Club I was convinced he had the best in the last series which was held at Mosher's Sugarfoot Kennels in Burnam Maine. Very nice work from Beamer handled by Bill Thompson. Wish I would have seen the first two series. Indeed he won the Derby. Go Team. Now we just need to keep our wits with Mike C's dogs in the Open and Amateur and my boy Freighter in the Q.

Congrats. to the Beamer, the Shaws and Bill. That dog is on fire. When does he derby out? Hopefully he has a couple of trials left. It has been a while since anyone has been in the 30s.

Beamer turns 2 at the end of the month. He is suppose to run this weekend in Stowe but that is up in the air.Got the call this morning that Bill's mom fell and broke her hip and needs surgery. We are trying to clear our schedules to make the trip up if Bill can't stay.

Way to go Beamer. Hey Jeff I'm in Vermont and have Canvas on my truck but I'll stake him out on Highway 89 for Ken Ericson to pick up on his way if I can run Beamer. I'm just transporting Canvas anyway

Bill traded hats with me the other night at the Mosher's following the lobster feed so he could have a Team Chesapeake hat on when he accepted the ribbon and trophy for Beamer's Derby Win. He did in fact wear the hat up for all to see. He did mention that he needs one of those team hats. Mine is the first edition so there was no parting with it.

I will make sure Bill Thompson gets a Team Chesapeake Hat. Ron, if you see Bill ask him if the tire cover on his truck has turned brown yet, he'll know what you are talking about!(Bill will be at Lake Champlain this weekend for Beamers last derby try).

And hey Gerard, I don't think you could get Beamer away from Bill ( he will be running him this weekend - Diane is taking care of everything at home). and I don't think Canvas would appreciate getting staked out on a highway, too far for him to see the birds go down!!!!

Bill said he'd put a sticker of a brown dog on the tire cover when he gets all age placement. I think you shoud just get a Chessie head picture from Pet Prints Inc. in Carona Del Mar CA and stick it on there anyways. They have a nice side view bust picture of a prown dog. Might not be big enough though hehehehehe!
