Hello Everyone..
I just wanted to share some news from the Owner/Handler Qualifying that was held on Friday. First Series: Real nice triple. All birds thrown from the line right and around the horn from left to right. First bird around 225 yards or so...2nd. bird around 235 with the flyer shot last at around 100+. The first station retired after the dog was sent for the flyer. 2nd. Series: Nice land blind through several cover changes and past sented area of first fall in series one. Around 225 yards or so Real nice blind with factors early, mid and end. 3rd. Series: Water blind: "no see-um blind" A tough 230 + yard water blind with a visible gun station once the dogs got over the dike with a point they must get on then off at around half way, with a 30 yard exit on land at the end. Explanation: The mat was at the bottom of a small dike..the dogs had no idea there was water ten yards in front of them untill they hit the top of the dike..The gun station was way off the line and shot a popper as the dog hit the mat. 4th. Series. 7 dogs back to the water triple. First bird off is the center bird at around 120 yards thrown from the line left in heavy cover at the end of a point then retired. 2nd bird is a flyer shot at around 100+ from the line right with the last bird thrown from the line left pinching the first bird a bit at around 75 yards. with an honor at the end. I really enjoyed running this Q with both my dogs. In the end my 4 year old Minsi MH** had a great trial going but I lost her at the end of the water blind. However, I'm very proud of my 8 year old "hunting dog first and formost" St. Clair Kodiak Bear** for running a great trial and picking up a 3rd. place ribbon for us. We drew applaus on both our marking series and Kodie ran very nice blinds. On a sad note I had to leave the Empire Hunt Test early after helping with the flyer station for the first series of Master. All is well, I headed home to comfort my Wife and daughters...Family first... John Alles & Kent did a fine job in JH on Sat getting another pass towards Kents JH title. Best Wishes, Jeff Wilson.......... This message has been edited. Last edited by: Jeffrey Wilson, |

Great job, Thanks for describing the Trial, sounds like a tough Q. Makes that 3rd that much sweeter and shows what hard work can do. Marty |

Had a great time this weekend watching the peakes run. Kodie did a fine job and Jeff was a proud papa! Minsi got sick during the trial and wasn't herself at all, hope the vet has good news today.
Again a great time in a great place with great people, not much more a man can ask for! |
