What fun! I am thrilled for Jon and Carol. When Crash ran only one dog out of 5 had done the test. Crash pinned two birds then headed out to the long bird. He shouldered into the wind and swam past the bird. One quick cast and he picked up the bird. Dee ran next. She was wonderful to watch on all three birds. Swam straight across a huge pond with a big cross wind. Dosen't get any better than that. Now, only two dogs had done the test and I thought Dee had a better job. Time to sit back and watch the rest of the work. In the end 5 dogs did the test without a handle and Dee did the best. Great job to everyone that helped put the title on DEE. Jon and Carol and their trainer LuAnn Pleasant, time to also throw Audrey Austin a bone as she bred Dee. Whew what a thrill. YIP YIP!!!
Congrats Jon & Carol for the win and dee way to put it all together ! It is always goood to see people deticated to the beed get thier just reward . Martin Pinder
Thanks to all for the kind notes of congratulations. It has been good to hear from so many friends around the country & Canada too. I called Audrey Austin this morning and we had our own little cheering session!
After a frustrating spring, Dee and Luann have finally put it together. Jon was out in the field shooting the flier and only got to see that one bird. I was marshaling and trying not to watch but couldn't help myself. I had just watched Crash shoulder into the wind (like a good Chessie does) and just miss that last bird by 10 yards. I couldn't believe it when Dee popped into the tules and immediately popped out with the last bird!!
I still have a silly grin on my face! It probably will be there while I packing up the truck to drive Dee and the boys to Maine!! Thanks again!!
