Puppies name is Splash & Hurricanes Hunter, SH
dob 3/29/05 (not bad SH ) owned by a Malcolm Haith. Breeder Ken Parrot, Dam Splash of Autumn. The puppy passed all junior and senior tests in a row. I think he is going to run Derby. From what I saw at a junior hunt test he looked real nice. That's all I know. Oh yeah from New England. |

John,
Andy now has 3 of the four pups in training form the Curry, Daisy breeding. The 2 He has from the beginning (Moose and Charlie)will be running their first UKC hunt test this month. I was out in Washington State for a while training with them. They look great. Already planning to run Charlie in the derby and Tank (can man x sandy)in the Q next years speciality. I had a Curry/Splash pup here to work with this summer, and he was awesome...great work ethic and lots of fun to run. He'll be working on his SH and MH next summer.

Congrat's John!
Hunter and I didn't fare so well in are first derby in NJ. He didn't see the memory bird in the first series. My fault! I trained him using duck sounds as a locator for his Marks (HT'S). Now I know to have him mark off of the guns(White coats). We were lucky enough to be test dog for the day. Hunter did well up until the 4th and last series. He cheated on both marks. Overall, it was a great experience! Had alot of fun, and met some great people. We were entered in a Master test in CT this weekend. Had to scratch due to work committments. :( malcolm.haith@fmr.com |

Malcolm don't get discourage. It was your learning curve. There are two field trials end of October. Give it a try. More than mark off the guns mark the fall. You must remember in field trials you can line your dog up with the memory bird or first bird down. Don't give the signal until he is looking at the memory bird. So you have to be looking down at your dog. Also give him a look at both white coats then have him focus on memory bird. Yes it is different from hunt tests but you have to admit it is fun and challenging. Also John was looking for your email. I told him about your pup.

Mike,
Thanks for the advice and encouragement. We won't quit that easily. What two FT events are you refering to? Had two scratch at the Master HT this past weekend. Mike, how are you doing? I actually responded to John's post on friday. |

Field trials - October 21 and October 28. They are a distance but migh be a nice trip. If i go I will leave on a Friday night. I would enter both my dogs. Murray Amat and Larry Derby. But I have to wait and see how I feel and if I can start some real training by next week. Right now I walk to a park next to my house and do maintance. Not allowed to drive. Handling drills for both. maybe you can train with John and me when we start training in upstate N.Y.
