Yes Bill,
I bred Rudy and Hummer, I am very happy. But as we all know, the breeding has to be good, but it is only a small part of a dog's success in trials. The big part is all the energy, training and trialing that has to be done!!

Bruce is just lucky.

He is lucky that Mario gave him such a nice dog. Any one could have trained Hummer. It is all about the genetics. I know this because his training techniques are suspect at best.

Same thing with Tiger and Decks. Their breeders picked out great pups. And to take it one step further, look at Katie and Conner two wonderful children ( Dual champion equivalents) that his wife Pat gave him. Do you think that those kids are as wonderful as they are because Bruce is getting the father of the year award? Please, think again! They are wonderful because somehow they got all of Pat’s genetics.

So, to sum it all up ALL of the congratulations, for Bruce’s aroma of roses, should be given to Jack Shield (Decks), Linda Patterson (Tiger), Mario Beauregard (Hummer) and most of all to Pat (Katie and Conner) They have all spoon fed him his success.

Four leaf clover regards,

Kurt

Very well put, some guys are just lucky to get great dogs. Anyone can train a great chesapeake, it's easy!

Kenny, Kurt, G-spot.

Just like old times. It's a pleasure to know that you guys are still out there keeping an eye on things.

And congrats to you Bruce. Apparently, when it comes to Hummer, less is more. Who would have ever thought that he was a "low maintenance" dog.

I agree with Kurt. It's nearly old hat that Bruce has done it with 3 peakes. Genetics it may be and if that is the case, My Decks grandson Freighter is ready to come and play with Bruce and see if it can be done again. If you're ready Bruce, I'll meet you half way and let you take him under your wing for an evaluation period. If he hits the water hard enough on blinds for you, You are welcome to use some more of that "Luck" on more Decks genetics. Door is open.

I have a Deck grandson too. I'll go more than half way. Count me in.
