What's really awesome is the dog is all-age and still within the age limit to run derbies. That's one time dog in any breed.

Can someone explain Qualifier, Derbie and age limits of them. What does it take for a dog to earn a QAA?

QAA = winning 1st or 2nd in the Qualifying or any placement or Jam in an All-Age stake (any age above 6 months)

Derby = for dogs 6 months to 2 years of age

Thanks Tim. What's earned in a Derby? Points towards your FC/AFC title?

Looks like Gary bought some brand new decoys for the photo. Congrats to Gary and Heidi on all of Winstons success.

Rudd Derby points do not add to FC/AFC.

Derby points are just points that put you on the Derby List. There have not been many chessies on the Derby List.

Points for FC/AFC are earned in the open and amat - 10 points earned in open to get FC and 15 points to get AFC. You also need a win in the open and amat.

Chris,
They are not new decoys but Big Foots that I gave him for Christmas a few years back. Trapper and I are using them today! I broke down and bought a license yesterday. Heidi

Heidi,

Those are some of the best looking Bigfoots I've seen. Must all the ones I hunt over are much older, but all seem rather gray and dull compared to the ones in the picture.

Do you still have the pup that Gary was telling me about back in September. A female I think.

We still have Mattie. She is with Gary and Winston. She loves the water. Time will tell! They handled on the last bird today but were there!

The geese were all over today. I need to work on my calling.....

Maybe the calling was fine, just that some days no calling is best.
