Westwind Abernaki Chief MH and Westwind Ms Katahdin both finished their first Canadian trial in New Brunswick, Canada. Abe got a reserve JAM (certificate of merit) in the OPEN and Katie got a JAM in the Amateur. They are now both qualified all age in Canada. It was a fun weekend, despite the black flies!

Congratulations on your pair of up-and-coming littermates! (That the blackflies couldn't dampen your weekend speaks volumes for owning such dogs, and I've a son of his that would make me an Abe fan if he never won a ribbon.)

Hey Wendy.congratulations!

I wish I had of known you were going to that trial as I would of loved to see those two dogs run. My good friend Todd Cormier was running a QAA Chocolate Lab and the trial is only a 2 hour drive from PEI. I heard a member of our club won the open both days????? Bev Fowler?

Do you plan on making any more trips to the maritimes this sumummer????? Thanks

Congrats Wendy! You've got a super nice pair of young dogs there--attractive and talented too! I enjoyed watching them run at the Specialty last fall. COntinued wishes for success with them Big Grin

Hey Wendy,

Our trial dates are June 24-25 and Setember 2-3 this year.

Not alot to choose from as we have a extremely short training season and limited hunt tests and trials.

Please let me know if you are coming up for any of the trials. I own a 4 star cottage business.www.chaletsontheclyde.com and I can give you a great deal on a 4 star cottage that is 15 minutes from where the trials will be run?

Good luck the rest of the summer.

p.s. FYI Pretty low numbers here with regards to trials.

Hi Paul,
I plan to go to both Sunpoke and the PEI trial. See you there! I will call about a room? What is your email address?
The Canadian trials are alot of fun, with fewer entries.

Hey Mike.........the trials are the end of uune and first weekend in Sept.

I know they will run Amt/QAA for sure.not so sure on the Opne side of things.

Tends to be very low numbers but some preety good dogs for all......but tends to be maybe in the 15-20 dog range for Amt and 5-10 dog range.maybe for QAA.

Kurt had Blaze down last fall and mario had his dogs here alos...........they could probably give you some more insight on what they thought?

Also great time to be on PEI in either June or forst of Sept..........Golf,beaches,seafood etc............check out www.peiplay.com.
Hope this helps
