Ken and Scott's Canvass placed 3rd in the Amateur at DBRC. Canvass placed 4th last weekend at the LIRC. Scott was at the wheel for Del Bay and Ken ran an excellent trial at Long Island. Ken/Scott have an open win with Canvass, which counts as a Open and Amateur win towards his title. Ken/Scott how many other points does "The Can Man" have??
Also check out the posting [Mario B.] from up north! Go Teamchesapeake!! |

According to the Triassics, Canvas had 5.5 Open and 1 Am point going into this year, which gives him a total of 5.5 Open (All-Breed win!) and 8 Amateur (All-Breed Win!!), at least.

Hi Lisa,
I have been swamped here at work (worse then a Monday)and slow to respond. We are having a good spring as Canvas and I have 2 - 4th place finishes and now with Scott and his 3rd, gives us 8.5 Amat points. I judged at Central NY over the weekend and the call from Scott made the 5 hour drive home very easy. Scott also said Canvas was running a very good Open and during the water blind the dogs dissappeared for about 20-30 seconds. Unfortunately Canvas reappeared off line and could not recover quickly enough to get called back to the 4th series. We have one more trial to run this spring(Swamp Dog) and then all summer to train. I think it is interesting to note that Chessy's were always said to be a 1 person dog, but lately we have seen 2-3 people handling all-age dogs with good results. I am sure there are more that I don't know about. Good Luck to everyone and "GO TEAM PEAKE" Ken |

Thanks Keith and Linda,
Keith , I hope to see you back on the trial circuit soon with an up and coming brown dog! Linda, we had a good day training today with Bruce, Randy ,Hank,Greg, Bart, and Eric. There were just as many brown dogs as black ones!! We are still trying to convince Bart to go to the National Amat. Scott and I each have one more chance with Canvas at the Swamp Dog trial, so we will be giving it our best shot. Good Luck to you guys in Idaho and hope to see you there in person!!!! Ken |

Ken,
Finally got to spend a long weekend in Ft. Collins last week training with Cherylon and some old friends. I am heading that way again next week. It was great to train in a "field trial" atmosphere on really nice grounds and see three nice Labs (including Ted's) going to McCall. It was way overdue. If all goes well, either Jackson Hole or Co. Womens in Walden later in July will be the first trial of the season for "Maggie" & "Sunny." With any luck, 2-3 trials a month thru Nov. At least I will get to see some great country! Good luck next weekend! Keith |
