I recently checked with Mike Hafley, one of the folks putting on the 2003 FT Specialty regarding transportation. According to Mike, the closest airport is Wichita, Kansas (about 1 hour away from the trial site), but the fares are often real high.
I just booked a round-trip flight between Boston and Wichita for less than $200 without staying Saturday night! Airline "partners" of Delta, United, Northwest, and American Airlines all fly into Wichita. I looked into web fares for February (just for the sake of comparison), and Northwest is running specials of about the same cost - but apart from those, the fares _start_ at $785! For people who are flying dogs, I don't know whether the planes into Wichita are big enough to hold 500-size crates. Claire |

The Mystery Dog doesn't need a 500 crate! What airline did you use? Did you purchase your ticket on line?

I got the fares on-line. After looking into Lisa's question, I found huge variation in fares depending on the departure airport.
Other options are to fly into Kansas City (about 3 hours north) or Oklahoma City (about 3 hours south). Yes, my husband thinks that I was a travel agent in some past life (or that's what he says!). Claire |
