For the past 6months or so Pocket has had what started out as a little (size of a thick sewing needle end) spot on her nose, that has slowly continued to lose pigment and it's now about the size of a sharpie tip. Sorry for the aweful size comparisions, but in any case it has spread. Not any huge amount but enough to have me a bit worried (and I may be overreacting here).
Anyone have any experience with this? Any lines tend to have this trait? Should I haul her in to the vet to get it scraped or looked at...or should I just leave it and keep an eye on it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Danni SR Mallardsway On Your Mark -Pocket Mallardsway Bull Dozer WC - Dozer |

Is she eating or drinking out of plastic dishes? For some strange reason this can cause pink spots to break out on the nose.
If so, consider switched to stainless steel and see if it goes away. Kathy Miller |

No they've always ate of ssteel, don't like the bacterial potential in plastic. Cats have ceramic.
I don't think her nose was injured, but if Dozer nipped her could that cause pigment loss? Danni SR Mallardsway On Your Mark -Pocket Mallardsway Bull Dozer WC - Dozer |

It could, but I think you would have seen a sore spot first.
If it continues to grow, you should probably have your veterinarian check it. Kathy |

I saw this message and had some valuable info so had to register so I could answer. That pink spot could be several things. We have a young dog that developed pink spots on the lips after receiving a rabies shot. It can be a result of something lowering the immune system. There is also a condition called discoid lupus which affects mainly the nose. It can be relatively harmless but can also lead to all pigment loss and sores on the nose. It is treatable. These dogs should be kept out of direct sun if possible or have sun screen applied to the nose. Sun exposure can worsen the condition. Hope this helps.
