I originally had no intentions of getting a pup until next year. But after going up and spending time with the pups this little runt girl always caught my eye. She was just more alert and faster then the other pups. When you would walk in the kennel it was like she knew she was the runt and tried to do more to impress you. I liked that she wasnt scared of anything kids, other dogs and boy did she love birds. After seeing her chase after some baby phesants I realized I wanted her. I never thought I would give up my stud fee for the runt. She might be the runt but she is a big runt. Here are some pics of her from yesterday. 7 weeks old adn 9.8 lbs. The biggest of the litter is 14 lbs.

Nick, IMO as a breeder, runts are misnomers in well-bred litters because usually even though they are the smallest, they are equal in quality, ability and intelligence to the rest of the litter! I usually don't discriminate against the runt when grading a litter just because the pup is the smallest, as most times this pup turns out to be the best because they've had to fight so hard to survive over bigger littermates, and are no less in structure.

Just my two cents worth on runts.

But she answers so good to "runt dog".
Susie are you short because it sounds like you get a little fired up when someone mentions runt.SmileSmile hehehe.

Her name is Captain Thor's Gracie Girl. call name Gracie.

My mom named her.

She is going to stay at my parents house alot. Since my dad is retired and doesnt do much all day except watch the history channel he is going to keep her durring the day. But they only live 3 houses down from me and I am there almost every day anyway.

Your Mom has very good taste. Little dawg Grace reminds me a lot of my Gracie who is also a firecracker. Word of warning either have a six pack or blood pressure pills handy in the near future Wink

Well the history channel will be history for your Dad LMAO My Mom lived with us and while we were at work she would babysit the dogs. Every night when I got home I got a run down on who was good but most of the time I heard who was bad. Mom may have complained but every night when she had her bowl of ice cream they all would line up patiently waiting for the bowl...they were all perfect dogs then.

Thanks Mike. This little girl is not going to be hunted. Well not for a while atleast. I know that hunting Thor has messed up some of his training but that is what I got him for. I just hope not to make the same mistakes with her that I did with Thor.
I think Thor likes her.

When someone asks when to start introducing birds to a puppy, will you post that picture? That is great! I love it! Paul
