August 1st is almost here and I wanted thank those of you who have changed your registration and complied with the new requirements to be a member of Team Chesapeake. For those of you who have not gotten around to it yet, you still have time.

Just an FYI for everyone. Your Registration name, Display name and User name all need to be the same when you join or change, you will also need to have a City and State and a valid email address. Thanks again to those of you who have already got on board and for those of you who have been to busy just a reminder.

After AUGUST 1st you will be dropped without notification and will have to rejoin following the new guidelines.

Totally my own hypothesis but I wonder if some of the people who are not complying are not active or are leaving the site. I'm sure there are statistics or some sort of intel you have as moderator to prove or disprove but it was just a thought.

People come and go and that has been the nature of the retriever website/forums since I have been following them for about 7 years. What is different about Team Chesapeake is the "numbers" (which I posted a sample of on the "Dirty Laundry" thread) continue to grow and folks that have been around with breed field activities for a long time have been returning to the website. Maybe just a little at a time, but in a very positive way. The knowledge and experience they have to share is what will draw the newcomers.

Glad you know Nate, he is a "good guy" too.

I do know some of the retriever folks here. Gary and Heidi, Marcia Wythers, Brad Lewis, Chris Jobman, to name a few. I don't know them all like I'd be able to call 'em friends but I think I'd get away with Gary and Heidi, Lewis, and Marcia. If you have any suggestions for people I should get to know feel free to let me know on the board or via PM. I train with a good group but I still want to train with Chessy people whenever possible.

Thanks for the tips in advance and I have not met anyone in this game I wouldn't buy a beer for yet. Well almost no one LOL!!

Since I have already asked questions on this thread, I'll ask another couple.

1. How come it keeps getting bumped??

2. Are the rules a person still has to have their real name, location, and e-mail? It seems like we have gotten away from that. It's not that big of a deal but I just have to ask.

The new rules still apply but unfortunately we have too many "adult children" out there that do not like rules, do not read the new registration criteria, so this thread gets "bumped" on occasion in lieu of deleting new or old members of TC. For example, last evening, I had a new member that was PM'd with links to this thread and her username changed three times to her real first and last name.

But for the most part, things are pleasant on TC with no nasty commentary, the numbers are real good and one of these days I'll get some extra money to buy the necessary software and makes some changes. But for right now, need to make a living and train a few nice Chesapeakes which I prefer to do more than anything.

Let me first start by saying I will be using "adult children" on a daily basis. I may even tell people where I heard it but no promises. Second thanks for the explanation. I'm new to this message board thing so curiosity often gets the best of me. My wife tells me I'm thirty going on ninety. Hell I just learned what WTF means and I say it hourly. I'm not sure what you mean by the "old chessie breed," Ryan. I've had and been around Chessies since the summer of 1941, and frankly I don't see much difference between those we had then and those of today. If there are certain lines you want--or want to avoid--let us know and then people might be able to help you in your search.
