WARNING KEEP GORILLA GLUE AWAY FROM YOUR PETS!!!

Gorilla Glue—it's something you may have in your home right now. When used properly, it can hold just about anything together. But if it gets into the wrong hands, there's a danger that goes beyond any normal glue. Gorilla brand glue includes the active ingredient diphenylmethane diisocyanate
(MDI), a substance that foams after being exposed to moisture. If ingested in its liquid form, glues made with MDI can expand to many times the original volume, creating a foam-=like foreign body that can cause an obstruction in the esophagus, stomach or intestines. Ten minutes after adding water, the glue already starts to expand. Almost 24 hours later, the glue is so hard that it can be hit with a hammer. The problem arises because the smell and taste of the glue is attractive to dogs. A very small amount will expand to many times its volume. Even half an ounce of glue can grow to the size of a basket ball inside the stomach. Once in the stomach, the chemical is not toxic, rather it fills the stomach becoming a complete obstructive foreign body. If ignored the dog will not survive. The
mass of glue must be surgically removed; this is a serious surgery since opening up the GI tract can lead to peritonitis and other complications. If ingested, immediately contact your veterinarian. Do not induce vomiting. Do not give anything orally since it will become incorporated into the mass. Surgical removal is considered the only treatment.

Please treat Gorilla glue with the utmost respect. Even licked up glue form a towel or the floor is considered dangerous. Please, please, keep all containers of glue totally out of reach of all of your pets.

When I was working for my vet we had a dog come in that had a huge mass found in its stomach. The dog was loosing weight and throwing up we could feel this hard mass so we did x-rays. Surgery was done and we were amazed at what we found. It had eaten 1/2 a tube of Gorills glue which the family had forgotten/neglected to mention. It was the size of a canalope. Lucky for her , we got it out.

We had one case come into our clinic also. The owner had went to 3 different vets looking for the "magic" cure (she didn't have any money for surgery) and she just wanted to hear what she wanted to hear. We took a x-ray to make sure and the stomach was hugh. She ended up going to another vet since she couldn't afford surgery at our clinic. She was actually yelling at the vet because she thought she should feel sorry for the dog and do the surgery for free. Don't know whatever happend to the dog.

That stuff is BAD keep dogs away from it.
