Hi My name is Jess, I live in Cornwall, have just found this site, great, really liking it. I have a Chesapeake, her name is Wizz, she's 8 months old. She's very biddable, loves the beach & retrieving, she will be coming out with my GSP this season picking up to spectate, hopefully she'll progress well. She's definately a character & likes to think she's boss Would like to hear from people with general advice om training. Thankd
Hi JoAnn Thanks for message, really pleased with Wizz, she's coming on well & seems keen to learn. Luckily I live on a farm & my Dad runs a shoot from here, so we have ponds & she's used to seeing pheasants & ducks around, we do also have geese, 2 are nesting in one of the ponds. Am going for 1 to 1 training with her tomorrow, so i'll see how she goes
Hi Jess and Welcome.........Sounds like you are having a good time with your chessie girl, Wizz......Like JoAnn said.......time and patience.....have fun training Wizz.....Enjoy!!!

Hi I'm from Cornwall in England, got my girl from Lancashire, any tips on training greatly received, Wizz is my 1st Chesapeake, she's brilliant, a real character, we've formed a real bond, training coming on well
Hi Jess Have you joined the Chessie Club in the UK? We have events, including Chessie training days, in various places around the UK - though granted, not many in Cornwall ... so far! We have a Chesapeake weekend coming up in early July - a gundog training day for Chessies on the Saturday, followed by a breed seminar in the evening, and then the Club's first ever championship show the next day. The downside (for you) is that this particular event is in Denshaw, near Oldham ... but still closer than Lancashire - just! If you want more details, let me know. Sue

I think you can download a membership application form from www.britishchesapeakeclub.co.uk. It is £9 per year for single subscription. Email me at chesapeakeblue@btinternet.com and I'll send you some more info on events/newsletters, etc. Sue
