Two weeks ago a storm blew the roof off of my Kennel's and I have not had time to replace it yet. Now my two chessies are dried out and losing their hair, could this be caused by the sun. The only thing that has changed is the missing roof before the hair loss started. This is not normal hair shed I went to the vet and they want me to change food but I have not changed food in two years and the dogs have been fine.I also have labs that have not lost any hair.

Could they be stressed out? were they in it when the roof left? Maybe put a tarp up my pup lays in the sun. Hes still oily and shedding to compensate for warm weather. ?

I suspect the hair loss is caused from the loss of roof protection, so the sun and weather is beating down on them where it was not before. Consider what the sun does to human skin....I don't think it's much different even though an animal has fur. The sun can do the same damage. Can you cover their kennels with tarps or something to protect them?
