The Wyndham Chesapeakes are a part of my very active hunting hobby and this began in 1953. Breeding on a very limited basis several older purely working lines have been utilized with careful selection at every generation to maintain the highest quality hunting dogs, that are also good looking representatives of the breed and all animals are carefully screened for any inherited unsoundnesses. There are currently three very nice working dogs in the kennel that have passed their checks, and are proven sires of durable and easy to train stock.

The dogs at stud are;

1. Wyndham's Raging River, a rugged medium size brown dog. Hard driving determined retriever with a responsive nature. Excells in heavy mud ice and surf.

2. Wyndham's Range Rider, a faster light deadgrass dog that is a superb gamefinder and very fast quick to respond dog.

Ranger and Rider are brothers sired by the very useful but horribly named Hoocha Hoocha, A line bred decendent of Delaney's Cannon-Ball, a very famous dog of the 1950's at many of the countries Outdoors Shows. He was himself a grandson of the well known FC/AFC Raindrop of Deerwood, thus tracing to well known working stock in the midwest back to the 1870's. The dam of Ranger and Rider, Wyndham's Pagosa Polly, is a very classy working smaller bitch. Polly was line bred to my foundation dog, Ch Canadian Cub of Wyndham (see avatar) who was by a son of CFC Rocky of Cal Peake from a western hunting line heavily line bred to Ch/AFC Chucks Rip Joy and his unions with several Cocoa King Females.

3. Wyndham's Unequaled, is a tall sedge colored dog with exceptional athletic ability. A very accurate marker and precise handling dog he has the highest cruising speed I have seen in 50+ years of hunting. Amazingly he has demonstrated his nose many times as I was certain that any dog working so fast on land or water couldn't avoid over running his nose. This dog is by the same sire as Pagosa Polly but from a Suegartree bitch, the same female family as DC/AFC Sunday's Roughwater Canvasback amd Edgar Johnston's Tag***.

The dogs from this kennel are available at limited stud to approved working females. For details please contact Ed Atkins, P. O. Box 73, Ashley, North Dakota, 58413 Phone 701-684-6313 Email thebirdfinder@yahoo.com
