Hello Everyone,

I just thought I might give some info on Butch's new book..."Retrivers from The Inside Out". Although this is a site for mainly FT people there are alot of us gundog/hunt test people that use this site to further our knowledge and to get into a good argument sometimes.( RELAX...JUST JOKING).


I own and have read numerous training books from James Lamb Free to Mike Lardy's series of tapes and manuels.They all have there place and depending on what game you play are all useful in one way or another....As Mikes are what you use to train your FT dog this book is what you would use to train your gundog and/or hunt test dog. It is by far the most comprehesive training tool available on the market...bar none?

The reason it is this way is it is done in a CD-ROM formatt...you download it on to your computer and you have over 600 pages from everything from picking a pup, breeding, leader of the pack section, FF, handling, blinds etc....I could go on and on! The other thing that makes this book even more ahead of its time is the video clips explaining topics like Force Fetch...diagrams that you can print off and pop-up quizs all through the text...there is lot's of pics also.....it really does cover it all.

There would even be something in here for thr FT people I think????Maybe not...you never know until you try. You also get access to a restricted website where you can ask questions directly to Butch or other people that have purchased the CD...there is gundog galleries to send in your pics into and he has chosen a female pup out of one of his litters and you can follow her progress following this program and ask questions of the trainer.

Great to hear....how old is your dog? You are right with the CD...it is a tremendous tool for gundog trainers...I really think this will be a great book for years to come?

He just turned 11 months on 3/7.
